For an even deeper behind-the-scenes experience, specialty tours offer exclusive access to areas normally closed to the public—including the Barn and Backside of Churchill Downs. Start your day by watching racehorses train at sunrise and immerse yourself in the daily rhythm of life on the backside, where the heart of racing beats quietly but powerfully. Among the specialty offerings, the Bourbon and Bridles Tour stands out. Explore the rich connection between two Kentucky icons—Thoroughbreds and Bourbon—while enjoying a curated bourbon flight and tasting. You’ll even get the chance to craft your own Mint Julep, the signature drink of Derby Day. Visit the Kentucky Derby Museum Store for exclusive merchandise, Derby glasses, and local goods. Then relax at the Derby Café & Bourbon Bar, where you can enjoy Kentucky favorites and sip on the iconic Mint Julep.
