Celebrating Black Stories: New York International Children's Film Festival at Speed Cinema

ake in the audience’s favorite and award-winning films from the latest edition of New York International Children’s Film Festival! These amazing short films from around the world are sure to inspire curiosity and conversation for viewers big and small. With animation, live-action, and documentary shorts from 11 countries, Kid Flicks programs offer a chance to explore new frontiers from around the world, across the street, and the ever-expanding boundaries of our own perspectives.

Celebrating Black Stories spotlights Black narratives that transcend national boundaries, culture, and language with films in English, French, Zulu, and even ASL! These films share the joy, determination, resilience, and complexity of being young and Black while underscoring the vibrancy of Black storytelling. 2024, U.S./South Africa/Nigeria/France, DCP, in English, Spanish, Zulu, ASL, and French with English subtitles, 56 minutes.  Recommended for 8+.
