It Takes a Village: The Coppersmiths, Printers, Warehouses, and Shippers on

Buzzard's Roost Director of Whiskey Education and author Susan Reigler has developed a series of talks exploring the people and the stories behind history of Whiskey Row. Each topic was inspired by the historic markers on Whiskey Row.

More than the offices of the distilleries were found on Pre-Prohibition Main Street. The makes of the equipment and ingredients on which whiskey and spirits making depended were also found on and in the neighborhood of the bustling street. Discover long vanished businesses such as Cocks & Bridgeford – Dealers in Tin, Copper, and Sheet Iron Ware which also manufactured stills and outfitted the steamboats that transported bourbon downriver, including “with bells of all sizes.” A Kentucky Mule cocktail will be served, in a copper mug, of course.
