By the turn of the 19th into the 20th century, Louisville’s Main Street was the hub of whiskey commerce in the United States. While many distilleries had offices on what was known as Whiskey Row, there were also many whiskey dealers who bought bourbon from various sources and releasing their own brands. Some of these were blends of more than one distiller’s product, but some were blended with grain neutral spirits or even mixed with additives such as tea or colorings.
