Celebrate Earth Day at Kentucky Science Center

Interactive Programming Includes Paper-Making, Sustainability-Themed Science Carts, and Activities in Makerplace
LOUISVILLE, KY (April 17, 2025) — Kentucky Science Center invites guests of all ages to celebrate Earth Day with a day full of hands-on learning and environmentally focused activities on Tuesday, April 22. As part of the organization's mission to encourage lifelong learning and environmental stewardship, they are offering special Earth Day programming included with general admission.
Visitors can engage with additional science walkups stationed throughout the building, including activities that highlight sustainability, conservation, and the science behind protecting the planet. In MakerPlace, guests can explore earth-friendly design and innovation with special Earth Day-inspired challenges.
From 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a featured walkup experience will be offered where guests can learn how to make their own recycled paper. This hands-on activity demonstrates the science of reusing materials and gives guests a tangible way to take part in caring for our Earth.
“Our Earth Day programming is a chance for families and curious learners to connect with science in a way that’s meaningful and memorable,” said Mike Norman, President and CEO of Kentucky Science Center. “By showing how small actions can have a big impact, we hope to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.”
Earth Day programming is included with regular admission. Kentucky Science Center is open daily from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM and is located at 727 W. Main Street in Louisville’s historic Museum Row.
