LOUISVILLE, Ky. (June 8, 2022) – ­­ Louisville is a city full of neighborhoods and one of the oldest ones is aptly named Old Louisville. The city’s Old Louisville has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes in the country and is the third largest Historical Preservation District in the U.S.

Old Louisville Hidden Treasures Garden Tour:
This 28th annual outdoor home tour offers glimpses into the secret gardens of these stately homes. This tour welcomes garden lovers into the private green spaces of the nation’s largest Victorian residential neighborhood. Gardeners share their personal retreats, tucked behind stately Victorian mansions and protected by vine-covered walls and privacy fences. In addition to the Garden Tour, guests are encouraged to visit the Conrad-Caldwell House Museum. This stately home symbolizes the progressive spirit and Victorian grandeur of Louisville’s Gilded Age. Garden tour dates are June 11-12, tickets available at oldlouisvillegardentour.org.

Kentucky Shakespeare Festival in Central Park.
Now in the 62nd season in Louisville’s Central Park this festival is a city favorite back with a slate of the English playwright’s famous works. All performances are presented free of charge as the longest-running non-ticketed Shakespeare festival in the United States. Old Lou Brew
Annual a craft beer festival will also be held in Louisville’s Central Park and feature food trucks, live entertainment and of course unique brews from some of Kentucky’s finest indie brewers. This is a family and pet friendly event, just bring an ID and a leash for your pet. Tickets on sale now.

After the summer’s end, Old Louisville’s Central Park will host a series of free concerts called LIVE in Central Park with a September 10 performance by Hora Certa Brazilian Jazz as well as In Lightening on September 17 and finish with a September 23 show with Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band.

Old Louisville plays a large role in Louisville’s history and was one of the original suburbs built in the 1870s, Old Louisville consists of nearly 48 city blocks of Victorian-era homes – considered the oldest, largest and most beautifully preserved homes in the city.
