Kate Burger Recognized as ‘Forty Under 40’ Honoree
Kate Burger, CASE, Director of Convention Sales, was recently selected as a ‘Forty Under 40’ Honoree by Louisville Business First, the city’s leading business newspaper. This annual program honors the region’s exceptional up-and-coming young leaders, under the age of 40, for their career achievements and involvement in the community.
Kate is a graduate of Michigan State University’s School of Hospitality Business. She began her career with White Lodging Services in 2007 and made significant contributions in both hotel operations and sales. In 2012 she joined the team at Louisville Tourism as a Senior Sales Manager where she would successfully build new partnerships in the education and cultural market and bring more convention business to the city. In her nine-year commitment to the destination, she has generated 532,000 room nights, resulting in an economic impact of $312 million. Kate also supports a team of National and Senior Sales Managers in their efforts to bring meeting and convention business to the city of Louisville. She is an active volunteer in the community and serves on the Board of Directors for the Louisville Youth Choir.
“Kate has generated significant results in the education and cultural markets since she joined Louisville Tourism in early 2012, with clients gravitating to her engaging and positive selling style,” said Doug Bennett, Executive Vice President of Louisville Tourism. “We are very proud she has been recognized for going above and beyond to make a significant difference – not only in our industry but also in our community."
