Louisville CVB Wins 14 Awards for Excellence in Tourism Marketing
The Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau is the winner of 14 Traverse Awards, including the prestigious ‘Most Innovative,’ at the Kentucky Travel Industry Association’s annual conference.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Nov. 7, 2016) – The Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau is the winner of 14 Traverse Awards, including the prestigious ‘Most Innovative,’ at the Kentucky Travel Industry Association’s annual conference.
The Louisville CVB won the ‘Most Innovative’ award, which celebrates the year’s “most unique entry,” for its Louisville SnapChat Geofilters.
This social media promotion was launched to engage visitors to share their experiences in the city with a unique Louisville-themed graphic only available on SnapChat.
The 2016 Traverse Awards were presented during the Kentucky Travel Industry Association’s annual conference, held Nov. 1-3 in Lexington, Ky. Travel professionals in the Bluegrass were honored for their talent, creativity and effectiveness in marketing and public relations. A panel of industry experts in the areas of marketing, public relations and tourism from outside of Kentucky judged the entries.
The Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau also brought home seven Silver Awards: Marketing Campaign (My Hood Is… Hometown Tourist Celebration Neighborhood Campaign); Annual Report (Destination Marketing Plan); Direct Promotional (Brand Reveal Direct Mail); Group Travel Guide or Meeting Planner (15 Rooms to Love Rewards Motorcoach Group Tour Client Incentive); PR Campaign (American Bus Association Knocks Out Parkinson’s Disease); Event/Meeting/Conference Materials (ROSE Awards – Recognition of Service Excellence); and Visitors Guide/Other Booklet (Louisville Visitors Guide).
Six Bronze Awards were also handed out to the Louisville CVB.
Other Louisville attractions honored with Traverse Awards include the Kentucky Derby Festival and the Kentucky State Fair Board.
The Kentucky Travel Industry Association is a Frankfort-based organization that represents every segment of Kentucky’s tourism industry.
