Louisville Spotlights the City’s International Flair

Over 400 tourism professionals descend on Bourbon City Nov. 27-30

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (November 23, 2022) – The Louisville hospitality industry is extra thankful this year with the arrival of international attendees for the Travel South International Showcase taking place November 27-30 at the Omni Louisville Hotel. This conference is the premier marketplace event in the South which features over 400 tourism professionals who meet over the course of three days with the goal of gaining more business from international travelers.

Travel South USA, Team Kentucky and Louisville Tourism will roll out the red carpet to international delegates, including tour operators and trade journalists from Canada, Europe, Latin America and Oceania. In addition, inbound receptive tour companies in the USA, along with Southern destinations, hotels, restaurants, attractions and experience providers will also participate in the event.

International travelers mean big business as these visitors typically stay longer and spend more in the destination. Future convention bookings that can occur as a result of showcasing Louisville’s destination package to these key travel industry decision-makers stands to greatly benefit the city.

“Bringing Travel South’s International Showcase to Louisville is a huge honor,” shared Mike Mangeot. “From the moment the delegates touch down at Muhammad Ali International Airport to the closing event at the Kentucky Derby Museum, we will be unified in one purpose: to create an event our guests will never forget.”

“We are more than ready to welcome this prestigious industry conference to Louisville for the first time,” said Cleo Battle, President and CEO of Louisville Tourism. “We know conference attendees will enjoy experiencing the city’s unique brand of Southern hospitality, iconic attractions, Urban Bourbon Trail® and our rich culinary scene.

Louisville Tourism will host several events to introduce attendees to the city as many are likely visiting for the first time. Convention attendees will get to experience area attractions including the Frazier History Museum, Kentucky Derby Museum, Evan Williams Bourbon Experience and the Muhammad Ali Center, one of the city’s biggest international draws for visitors wanting to learn more about the life and legacy of the global icon.
