Louisville Tourism Adds Staff and Announces Promotions
The organization promoted two employees and added a new hire.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 12, 2022) – Janel Theilen has been hired as the National Sales Manager in the Convention Sales department. Theilen will be responsible for booking large conventions requiring 301 peak hotel rooms and above in the corporate, agricultural, fraternal, veterans, and public affairs markets. She was most recently in a Director of Sales and Marketing Manager role at the Aloft Louisville East. Theilen also has experience in key roles the Brown Hotel, Centerplate (both at the Kentucky International Convention Center and Raleigh Convention Center) as well as the Galt House Hotel. Theilen's first day in her Louisville Tourism role will be May 23.
Louisville Tourism recently promoted Sally Chinn to Marketing Communications Coordinator in the Communications department responsible for providing administrative support along with monthly reporting and project management oversight. Chinn has been with Louisville Tourism since 2019, most recently in a Convention Sales Assistant role where she assisted with convention bookings. Chinn will join the Marketing Communications department on May 15.
Mallory Cappelli was also recently promoted from Convention Sales Assistant to Convention Sales Coordinator. As a Convention Sales Coordinator, Cappelli will support the sales administration team, the Senior Vice President of Convention Development as well as one of the organization’s Senior Sales Manager. She started in her new role on May 9.
