Louisville’s Multi-Jurisdictional Marketing Campaign Wins ‘Best in Show’ at Kentucky Travel Industry Awards
Additional marketing campaign entries won a variety of awards
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Nov. 27, 2024) – Louisville Tourism earned industry recognition for its PR and marketing efforts by capturing a prestigious ‘Best in Show’ award as well as a dozen additional awards at the Kentucky Travel Industry Association’s (KTIA) annual conference.
The 22 tourism agencies involved were awarded the ‘Best in Show’ for the inception of the Kentucky After Dark marketing campaign, designed to bring awareness to the paranormal destinations all around the state.
Additionally, a second multi-jurisdictional project for the Kentucky Black Trailblazers Augmented Reality Experience also picked up an ‘Award of Distinction.’ The experience is the first of its kind, offering an immersive experience that tells the stories of several influential Black Kentuckians.
Louisville Tourism’s marketing entries also picked up a Gold win in the American Rescue and Recovery Act (ARPA) funded projects Louisville’s Garden & Gun, driving more awareness and visitation to Kentucky, but more specifically “Bourbon Country.”
Louisville Tourism won additional awards including two Silver and four Bronze.
The awards were presented during the conference’s annual Traverse Awards Gala, which honors travel professionals in Kentucky for their talents, creativity and effectiveness in marketing and public relations. The event was held November 13-15 in Covington and was attended by hundreds of tourism leaders from across Kentucky.
Kentucky travel and tourism businesses and marketing organizations vie for Traverse Awards in 11 categories. The Traverse Awards are judged by a panel of out-of-state travel and tourism industry experts. Award criteria include concept, creativity, results and impact.
