Major Tradeshow Closes Out Busy Convention Year
Key trade show leaders convene in city for first time
Louisville, KY (December 12, 2022) – On the heels of showcasing Louisville to Travel South’s international audience, Louisville is hosting another influential convention group with the December 13-15 arrival of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) Expo! Expo! at the Kentucky International Convention Center (KICC).
IAEE is the premier show for exhibitions and events industry professionals to network and learn about the latest trends and technology. IAEE offers an ideal audience and opportunity for Louisville to showcase the city to current and prospective clients, along with competitor cities.
Many of the show’s estimated 2,000 attendees are key decision-makers driving site selection for future meetings. Louisville was originally the host city in 2020, but due to the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was rescheduled to 2022.
The exposition is expected to use over 4,000 room nights in the downtown corridor, fetching nearly $2 million in estimated economic impact throughout the show. Though typically the full economic impact of hosting an industry event continues over the successive years following the event – translating to a much higher future economic impact for Louisville.

A press conference will take place on Wednesday, December 14 at 11 am featuring key members of the event industry including Cathy Breden, who is the EVP and COO of IAEE as well as CEO of the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) and David DuBois, IAEE President & CEO. Both will share industry outlooks as well as economic impact information related to the meetings and events industry.
