May Holiday Weekend Will Be Very ‘Boojie’ in Paristown
Inaugural Uncle Boojie’s Roots Revue, the best of bluegrass, roots and folk music, adds to busy holiday weekend
Louisville, KY (March 13, 2024) – Louisville is the place to be this Memorial Day weekend. On the heels of a new holiday weekend Waterfront Park music festival, Paristown will also hold a two-day music festival on May 24 and 25. The lively neighborhood will host the inaugural Uncle Boojie’s Roots Revue in the revitalized cultural arts and entertainment district.
“Roots Revue will bring together two-days of live music in the heart of Paristown, further creating and building an annual home for bluegrass music in the state of the Bluegrass,” said Steve Smith, Paristown’s Managing Partner.
The two-day music festival will benefit The Kentucky School of Bluegrass and Traditional Music (KSBTM) and will feature some of the best bluegrass and acoustic artists in the region, along with great food and cocktails.
Roots Revue will feature Bluegrass and acoustic music royalty along with rising stars including: The Seldom Scene, John Cowan’s Newgrass All Stars, Darrell Scott, the Po’ Ramblin Boys, KSBTM Mountain Traditional Ensemble, Mama Said String Band, Steve Cooley & Company, Bibelhauser Brothers, Gary Brewer & The Kentucky Ramblers and the Dean Osborne Band.
Roots Revue is presented by Uncle Boojie’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, founded in Howardstown, Kentucky. Touted as the finest whiskey the world has “never seen,” Uncle Boojie’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is currently extremely limited and available exclusively at Stoneware & Co. in Paristown. The legendary family bourbon recipe has been around for more than 200 years and has been passed down through seven generations.
In addition to great music, the festival includes a stellar lineup of vendors selling vintage items, records, pottery jewelry and more, as well as silent disco, yoga and the Ember & Ash Cigar Lounge.
Roots Revue will take place outdoors in the heart of Paristown under the spectacular pavilion at Christy’s Garden, rain or shine. Located just a mile from downtown Louisville, Paristown’s cultural arts and entertainment district provides easy access to those visiting from out of town, as well as locals from neighboring communities. Paristown’s open-air outdoor venue provides the perfect environment to rock to the bluegrass and dance your soul out all weekend long at Roots Review.
Tickets for Uncle Boojie’s Roots Revue are now on sale with general admission weekend tickets priced at $25, along with free admission for children 10 and under with adult ticket. Youth general admission is $10, weekend parking passes are just $15, and a VIP Bundle ticket is $85. For more information and to purchase tickets, go to: www.rootsrevue.com.
To hear more of Kentucky’s authentic roots, Louisville will feature LouGrass, a seasonal series from April through October, where at least two venues each weekend will feature live, free bluegrass and bluegrass adjacent music.
