NuLu Fest Set to Rock the Streets
Free street festival celebrates the NuLu Neighborhood with bourbon, craft beer, live music, shopping and unique fun for all ages
Louisville, KY – The NuLu neighborhood presents the 8th Annual NuLu Fest, featuring local and regional vendors, bourbon and beer, plus other spirits, and an all day music line-up. The free, family-friendly, and open-to-the-public block party will take place on Saturday, September 24th, 2016 from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. on East Market Street in the 700, 800, and 900 blocks.
NuLu Fest continues to put on a show with nearly 200 independent vendors offering food, crafts, local non-profits and more. In addition to vendors on the streets, several dozen NuLu businesses will be open throughout the event. Kentucky favorite Jim Beam will be serving special NuLu Fest bourbon cocktails. Regional brew fan-favorite West Sixth will have a beer garden on Shelby Street across from the main stage offering a selection sure to please craft brew fans. For even more libations Old 502 Winery, Copper & Kings, Ballotin, and, one of the newest businesses in Nulu, Rabbit Hole Distillery will offer folks all the good feelings with their moonshine.
For the kids there will once again be a dedicated special 'play area' for their fun and games from 11a.m. – 6 p.m. in the 900 block of East Market Street near Lincoln Elementary Performing Arts School. You can expect live music, face painting, games and a treasure hunt with a tasty Muth’s Candies prize to keep the kids entertained!
The entertainment this year features two stages with two lineups that will offer something for everyone to dance to. Main stage headliner Shakes Anderson & the Louisville All-Stars will go on just before 7 p.m. This festival also marks the last day of the Rye Back Porch Sessions presented by Larceny Bourbon and will go on until 11 pm when the festival closes.
